Journalism
I’m a journalist and editor and writer with more than 20 years’ experience working for national newspapers, magazines and websites.
I write The Observer's Human Intelligence column, showing how AI can work for you in everyday life.My specialism for over 20 years was financial journalism. Known for cutting through jargon, I’ve won national awards for making complex topics like pensions and investments clear and accessible. I now apply this to the world of AI.
I've written regularly for The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Sun. I was The Sun’s consumer champion columnist for four years, helping readers resolve everyday financial problems.
My bylines also include Saga, MoneyWeek, MoneySavingExpert and MoneySuperMarket, among many other consumer-focused sites.
Earlier in my career, I edited The Observer’s 'Cash' section, and was part of The Daily Telegraph’s Money team. I also worked as a BBC producer on shows such as Radio 4's Today Programme and Radio 5 Live's Wake Up to Money.
